Audio adaptations from older, out of print codexes and other Warhammer 40,000 rulebooks by me, RJ Bayley. For lovers of oldhammer, middlehammer, Warhammer 40,00 lore and Warhammer lore in general. You can talk to me about 40K and which old 40K fiction I should turn my attention to next at https://twitter.com/RJBayley. Got an old rulebook you want to send me for me to adapt into audio? Get me on Twitter, above, or at robertjbayley@gmail.com. Many thanks to Graham McNeill for his help with identifying which authors go with which codex stories. Graham McNeill on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GrahamMcNeill Graham McNeill's website: https://graham-mcneill.com/ If you've enjoyed any of these audio stories, please leave a review on iTunes and subscribe so you know when the next one is out. Oldex, is entirely unofficial and uncommercial, from out of print publications, is a derivative work with all copyrights owned by Games Workshop, covered by their fair use policy, and is a celebration of the hobby and the fiction I grew up with.

In which I narrate mostly a chart! There was some lore on the same page, but I felt like it was missing some context without the full chart rundown. Plus, this is the final piece from Codex Imperial Guard (3rd. ed) and I didn't want to end it on a tiny little piece.
I've had requests to cover old Eldar and Ork codices, but keep missing out on those as their eBay prices inflate beyond my means. I don't suppose you want to donate one to me, do you? If so, get in touch using the methods below.

The original and in my opinion best Kill Team.
Also a set of figures from my childhood who I've since stripped in order to give them the proper paintjob these icons of Warhammer 40,000 deserve.

Starring the toppermost lad, Nork Deddog is a character close to my heart and has been since I first read this edition of the Imperial Guard codex as child. I hope I've done him justice, with his phonetically written dialogue informing how I portrayed him.

I absolutely love Lord Commander Solar Macharius. He's one of my favourite characters. There isn't an audibook of the Macharius omnibus. Be a dear and email/tweet Black Library saying you want me to narrate that as an audiobook, won't you? Cheers.

Something a bit meatier to get our teeth into, and the first of two extracts concerning one of my favourite characters in all Warhammer. I still have his model and when I've worked through more of The Backlog I'm looking forward to making a diorama with him.

Honestly, there's longer fiction in this codex, it's just all later on. Certainly nothing like the fiction contained in the later 3rd ed. Codex Necrons though. Still, it gives examples of flavourful regiments beyond the big main ones that have their own doctrines these days.

My sincere apologies in the time it's taken to get this out. A long term health condition really took a nosedive and I was struggling to get the basic facets of my life done, never mind Oldex. I think I'm on the up again now, and normal service shall resume.
I appreciate your understanding.

I've gone ahead and started to title these. They're not the official titles, just ones I think appropriate. I don't mean to impede on the writer's original story, or put my stamp on it (even though I am, really), it's just because I think it's going to be easier for you to know which stories you have or haven't listened to this way, rather than trying to remember if you've listened to 'page 10a' or 'page 10b'.
This is a really human piece of Imperial Guard life that sets them apart from all the other factions in the universe. With some tweaks this could easily be a letter from a real-world war.
